Richard W. Scales

Richard is an Alabama native bringing critical risk management skills to head up CIG’s insurance division. With an impressive Merchant Marine Officer background and innate understanding of how to structure required insurance on the partnership level, builder/developer and management sides, he and his team consistently provide winning quotations while keeping costs down on LIHTC deals. As a former underwriter, Richard has the ear of key insurance underwriters across the country to maximize solutions for vertically integrated affordable housing developers. Richard holds a BS in Business Administration from Birmingham-Southern College, MS in International Transportation Management from New York Maritime College, Unlimited Tonnage USCG License and Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist designation from the Hartford School of Insurance.
